A quick note to Terry’s friends and fans:
Terry recently underwent a Double Bypass Surgery to open up two major arteries in his heart. Luckily for Terry, and us, the surgery was successful and Terry has made a complete recovery.
Terry would like to thank his family and friends for all of the prayers, good thoughts, and messages sent his way. They have been instrumental in keeping his spirits up and helping him through this healing process.
Keep an eye on his web sites for updated information, and schedule changes.
"I'd Wait a Million Years," the 10th chart single by the Grass Roots, made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 5, 1969. Gary Zekley and Mitchell Bottler
wrote the rockin' song about a man willing to shed his pride out of his love and longing for a woman who remains out of reach. Jimmie Haskell arranged horns for the recording session, which Steve
Barri produced. By the time the band recorded this tune, guitarist Terry Furlong had
replaced Creed Bratton. "I'd Wait a Million Years," on the ABC-Dunhill label, peaked at No. 15, and impressively remained on the chart for 15 weeks.
After years of playing music, mostly solo gigs, Terry realized it was time to get back to his "Musical Roots". Terry has always remembered the good times he had during his band days with the Grass Roots, and Blue Rose, and the opportunity to get back to those "Roots" has presented itself.
Terry has put together a group of Professional musicians and they have given their first live performance. During their rehersal sessions they talked over different band names, and it was one of the members daughter's that came up with a great idea. Because all of the guys had their formative years "rooted" in music, and later in life pursued various other careers, why not get "Re-Rooted" in their first passion, music. A band name was born! The music will lean toward the 60's & 70's, with a lot of classics from that era. You'll hear songs from several of the band members days in Chart Topping groups of that time. One thing they promise is that it will be high energy fun!
Terry and the guys premiered their band, and music, in Prescott, AZ, and were featured on AZ TV7, "Morning Scramble Show".
Lets get back to having some fun, and listen to the "Classics", when music was good.
